Wormholes/Effects/Wolf-Rayet

From EVE.WIKI

Wormhole Effect Wolf-Rayet systems apply a system-wide effect that buffs small ships and armor tanking significantly. Check your ship bonuses before running sites.

The Wolf-Rayet is a wormhole system effect found in select C1, C2, C3, C4, and C5 wormhole systems. It strongly favors small ships and armor tanking while penalizing shields and large weapons.

Effect Bonuses

edit
Bonus C1 C2 C3 C4 C5
Small weapon damage +18% +36% +54% +72% +90%
Armor HP +18% +36% +54% +72% +90%
Signature radius −18% −36% −54% −72% −90%
Shield HP −18% −36% −54% −72% −90%

PvP Implications

edit

In Wolf-Rayet systems, small armor-tanked ships gain a massive advantage. Frigates and destroyers receive the full signature reduction and weapon damage bonuses, making them disproportionately dangerous relative to their cost.

  • Armor frigates (Astero, Cruor, Daredevil) are extremely strong
  • Shield fits are heavily penalized — avoid
  • Large weapons do not receive the damage bonus
  • Attackers using small sig ships can be nearly impossible to hit with large guns

Site Running

edit

Wolf-Rayet effects benefit small gang PvE setups. A fleet of armor-tanked frigates or destroyers can clear sites faster than standard cruiser fleets in high-class Wolf-Rayet systems due to the signature reduction making Sleeper application poor.

Tip In C5 Wolf-Rayet systems the armor HP bonus reaches +90%. Dual armor-repaired ships become extraordinarily tanky. This is the preferred environment for solo capital escalation farming.
